Ignorance

Hi guys, I was involved in last year's halloween horrors and was gonna be in this year's too as a scare actor.
The entire event was planned by a group of students from SP's Diploma in Events and Project Management as their final year project, just like last year. Everything from the theme, costume design, recruitment/audition of actors to the actual planning and exectution of the event was and would have been done by them. Most of the scare actors, about 90% of us, are either poly students or recently graduated poly students.
The last minute cancellation came as a huge shock to all of us involved because it's less than 3 weeks to the start of the actual event. I was actually at the night safari trying out my costume the other day and when i got home at night I heard that someone high up decided to pull the plug on it just like that.
This annual halloween event has been going on since 2007 and is always a huge success in both drawing crowds as well as making huge profits for the Night Safari/Singapore Zoo. it is ridiculous to expect anyone to believe that the actual reason of cancelling such a highly anticipated event so close to its start is to make way for events like a Deepavali festival or other 'family oriented' events.
If they were against this from the start they would and should have cancelled it a long time ago, not only now. Not when all the costumes are done, makeup artists have been hired, scare actors auditioned and trained, props and decoration on site been set up, roadshow booth opened at Orchard and even tickets already gone on sale.
To people speculating about there being a religious nut behind this last minute cancellation, that certainly seems to be a possibility. From what we understand so far, the decision came from Wildlife Reserves Singapore's new interim CEO, Isabella Loh. (you can google her elite, uncaring face) The reasons we got apart from the one they told the media is that 'having an event like Halloween Horrors is like worshipping the devil.' I'll say that the people working at the Night Safari/Singapore Zoo, members of the public and of course the students who are directly involved in creating this event are all extremely disappointed in this shocking decision. I'll leave you to draw your own conclusions as to what is going on...
In an update, lolxuan posted:
Okay guys, here's the latest update.
It has been confirmed that the decision to cancel Halloween Horrors was a sole decision made by the CEO.
We are trying hard to get this decision overturned now so the event can go ahead as planned.

Please don't let 7 months of hard work and effort go down the drain like that. If you are involved in this event, have been involved in past years' events or simply would like to go to this event then I appeal to you to help make your feelings known in whatever way you can! Spread the word people!!!

I know this whole safari night thingy is seriously late, but i was reading Mr Brown's blog, and this is a perfect example of sheer ignorance. Was just reminded of how irked i was when i first read about this incident...
Why people don't verify facts first before taking action is totally beyond me.
Stupidity, unfounded conviction in their own beliefs, or sheer gung-ho ness?

Venus

http://sg.entertainment.yahoo.com/blogs/singapore-showbiz/meet-venus-15-old-living-doll-083519178.html

I am totally a fan of the 'doll-like' look.
Tis so cute and innocent!
I suppose though, that after i warp this look to my preference i'd look like a pretty but slightly freaky doll. With makeup,of course.
Hols in 1+ weeks time...cannot wait!! Then maybe i'd finally go learn how to use contact lenses. And maybe falsies to achieve that doll like look. <3

Still halfway through this CRM report. What a pain in the arse. ):

Yumi!

Ah, but all these pretty dresses i cannot have...

...though i think i'd most likely be able to make a replica of the first link's dress after i complete my course in Laselle. Haha!

Anyway, meet Yumi, Odie Dear's gift to me! :D

We rushed from Bishan to Dhoby to watch Ghost On Air....too short and felt like a total waste of $$. Twas kinda lame.

Anyway, Yumi now shares a spot on my pillow with Alphonse(weird but it kinda seems to suit him!), my yellow-shelled, silky snapping turtle plushie from Otaru. How i miss that place(of magical atmosphere, delicious pastries and delicate, glass musical boxes and Plushies Galore!!!)!

Hope we do get to go to Otaru after graduating :DD
Haha.

Nights all~

Stunner

a

Omg, this dress 9is just b e a u t i f u l. So stunning! I wonder if it's an Ellie Saab gown. This is the stuff i want my dream dress to be made of. So dreamy, romantic and kind of...mysterious? LOL.

Hope my designs will be up to par with this one, when i graduate from Laselle.

Hopefully. :))

You.

Your kind compulsively picks on others to feel empowered, strong and less insecure about your own failings and neurotic impulses, i understand that.
What i don't get is how you manage to get through your life day by day, being so hideous inside.
Have you no conscience or empathy?

Sickening; repulsive; you disgust and offend my belief in morals/ethics.

19th!

So i've finally become a proper little adult. Not a young adult like 18, but well..a working adult alr. Of that makes any sense. Or it could that i'm just tired and dramatizing here. :D Anyway! So here's how i spent it:

Thurs (my b.day)~ Went to Orchard with Sam to shop and watch Cabin In The Woods(her treat; my b.day prezzie! :) ). Lol, she was actually rather reluctant to watch it because she was afraid we'd be the only ones in the theatre...watching a horror flick(though it disingerated into this really...B grade movie halfway through-i mean, zombies, really? Why not use scarier things, like the ballerina! Or the dolls? At least that'd be disturbing, if not..scarier.)  But as it turned out, it was packed and it, well, was at least entertaining halfway. :)) I enjoyed some parts of it though, so thanks Sam! ^_^
Had wanton mee for lunch, and bought cds~ music makes everything better. Then i got this tote bag and necklace...one of the black rhinestones fell off today though, but ah well, what do you expect for a price of $3? Haha.

Pics! :))

Yup, bottle of shampoo my mum got for me. Practical eh. XD
Thanks for the outing,Sam~~ ^_^

Next Day(18th May):

Had lunch with Sam at Orchard Xchange's Popeyes before heading home :)
Then met up with Sarah at Novena...where we finally got gym membership!
Honestly, i rarely go through with things even though i may have talked about them lots of times(old friends would know. ): haha!), so this was a good experience...further strengthens my decision to say things, and do them as i mean.
Afterwards, we met Joey for dinner :) At this AWESOME Jap buffet in 313!! For $31 dollars we stuffed our faces with food...the sashimi was AWESOME. So was the salmon skin and veg curry. And the milk puddingggg!! Alright, pics!
Bigasspic cause the sashimi is FREAKING AWESOMEEEEE!!! Okay i actually wanted to name this pic "REALLY TASTY EGG" but it failed to live up to it's name('Tasty Egg' LOL),so. (ramenplay's one is nicer. <3)

   PUDDING!!!
-and Sarah's cute little choc roll cake :DD
 "Air Hug!" XD
And to conclude this post,i leave you with an artistic, upside down shot of our happy mugs. :)

Def. will head back to that great buffet place again. <3
Had a Super good 19th, for sure! ^__^ Thanks, Sarah and Joey!! <3

A little anecdote:

http://sayainunderworld.blogspot.com/search/label/Apparition

Yet another awesome horror story blog! :)
Haha.

On another note, i celebrated S.'s birthday with her yesterday! Today's actually her birthday though, haha.
Was kinda impromptu;she decided to go to HMV to check out new cds and asked me along; we ended up shopping a bit, having yummy food and watched Battleship(my b.day treat for her, lol)~

Twas fun. :) We have the same ideals and values, so that is really great. :D Makes this friendship so much better! Makes understanding each other much more easier too(we can be direct without offending one another ). :)

Anyway, i shared a little something about me with her; thought i should, well, put it on my blog out here for all to see...
It may seem like i don't want to/ can't get close to people, but that's only because i've this strong belief in courtesy and morals.
When one gets closer to another, usually they'd shed some manners, cause of the friendly intimacy they've gained. But i'm not that way..it seems strange i know, but this is what i believe in: if you really treasure and cherish a friend, you should be polite and treat her/him with respect, and make sure not to hurt her unintentionally or otherwise(especially not  with intent).
Because you like her/him, and naturally one'd want the other to know it, and perhaps, appreciate the fact that she's/he's really a part of your life now.
This is why it seems like i've 'high standards' when it comes to friends-and maybe strangers?-,i guess. I don't play that game of being all unfriendly, mood-swingish and catty with close friends because i treasure them; i like them and want them to stick around for quite sometime.
However, if i do feel catty that day i'd tell them what was bothering me that day, so that there's a logical reason behind my temper.
Come to think of it, i don't think i know of anyone who could face/stand an unpleasant, yet close acquaintance for long.
So,yup...this is the little anecdote.
Haha~

Nex tmr with Odie dear, woot! Haven't seen her in a month or so! Can't wait, can't wait :)))

Akira Yamaoka

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xTkVMYAsdf0&feature=autoplay&list=AL94UKMTqg-9BTUyDRa4lFB_35AkUDNVPI&playnext=2

I really wonder how composers such as he create their music. Do they hit random chords to form a string of notes, before getting inspiration for their melodies?
Do the strains, or perhaps the whole composition, come to them in that realm of semi-consciousness between sleep and reality?

Beautiful stuff.
Hope i can find, and buy all the silent hill soundtracks one day,soon...it'd be lovely to have these soothing, yet slightly disturbing, melancholic melodies play. They can lull you into such a pleasant, serene state of mind.

Am just weird that way. C:

Anyway, this movie is coming out:

Creepy little true stories:

Just started studying today; feels like it's gonna be an arduous study-journey. Sigh.
