Anyway, woke up this morning feeling shitty and cried. -_- A red storm is arriving..in my abdomen. ):
Studied with Sarah dear at Bucks again today, the same for tmr~ it's been kinda productive, but studying outside kinda makes me set nearly impossible(for my pace) goals for work i want to complete.
Like that time i loaded my backpack with my Mac, 2 sets of lecture notes and decided to finish my lengthy assignment plus 3/4 sets of notes and ended up with a half-written assignment.

Ah well, anyway, mum's just set an hour's quota on my comp.-usage. Gonna game now!

Plastic surgery

I won't deny; i've been thinking about getting a jaw reduction for weeks...my facial features are kinda crowded in front, so all this excess 'side-of-my-face' kind of hampers my looks(yes i'm horribly thick-skinned and vain, i know >D)!
Plus, all those different hairstyles i could try with a slimmer face!
Then again, my friends tell me to wait till i've shed this puppy weight, so...we'll see :D

Gym-

-finally. Although i must say, today's efforts were..in vain, i suppose, cause my over-reactive, over-kanjiong mother felt this overwhelming urge to cram food into her already stuffed offspring's mouth.
Poor me. ):
No matter, can redouble my efforts in gym i suppose...

Anyway, studied and gymed with Sarah dear today! I kinda missed those times when we studied together and talked, had a nice cup of Bucks and all. :)
Gonna study with her tmr again~ whoopee ^_^

On another note, a mini lesson i gleaned from today: never make a big deal out of your own minor problems(like a certain prob bothering me right now, exam stress, my barely receding waist line, the never-ending quest for comfortable shoes...). Others have it worse, sometimes.
Hope i don't sound too direct, but things always happen for a reason, and they always work out in the end. Sometimes, even better than expected...

Of course you are going to feel put down, but instead of getting mad or staying quiet and wishing later you’d said something snarky back, come back with an answer like “We’ve discussed it and while it would be nice to have a lake house (you aren’t lying and saying you would hate it) that would mean I’d have to work full time and I really don’t want to do that. I enjoy my time off too much, that’s the most important thing to me.

Now you have told the person exactly why you have made the ‘decision’ to not have a lake house, why you aren’t ‘jealous’ and how you are happy with your life. You also made them understand that you are entitled to your opinion and likes and dislikes because people like this want to judge you by their standards but don’t want you to have your own. You have to make it clear that you do have your own.

What can they say after that?

Well, I guess they could say- I wish your husband made more money so you guys could have a house on the lake- but in that case you can just come back with nicely explaining that you are both very happy with the type of work you do and that means more to you than material things. Just explain yourself honestly and in a nice way (not defensive).

Another example: someone ‘analyzes’ your personality and tell you what is wrong with you. You listen politely and then say “That’s an interesting theory, but I don’t think that’s true of me” in a pleasant voice.

Sometimes you can just ‘joke’ back with someone.

Another good way to let someone know they’ve been rude is to simply stare at them for a long minute (someone already suggested this) with a shocked look on your face and then just when they think you are going to blow up, break into a big smile and make a ‘joking’ sarcastic remark.

I saw Prince Charles do this to a reporter who asked him how it felt to be at a battlefield where our ancestors kicked his ancestors butts. He did the long stare, broke into a big smile and said “OH, absolutely fascinated! in this tone of voice with just the right amount of sarcasm. You couldn’t really prove he was being sarcastic, but you knew he was. LOL!!!

The dreaded day has ended!!! The day of 2 tests and 1 presentation. Truly awful. ):
On a side note, i'm never pulling an all-nighter again. Went to school with a horrible tummy-ache, puked up my breakfast and kept on falling asleep, in front of the director who was giving our lecture group a speech, what's more.
-_- Ah me.

Went to watch Batman with Odie and her friend today...it was gooooooooood!!! There was one scene where-won't give any spoilers here-i wanted to cry my eyes out but couldn't cause of the people around me.
The movie was good, but i failed to get into it. ): I intend to rent the whole series and watch them all before watching this installation again...was confused as to the identities of those in the film, so i failed to fully absorb it's happenings.
But it was good. :)
Allow me a small digression to say that one of my pet peeves in cinemas are those people who feel the urge to text, bright glows illuminating the darkened theatre. This woman next to me was doing just that, and boy was i annoyed. It detracted further from the immersion of oneself in an epic movie, being so distracting and all. Bugis theatre wasn't good...seats were cramped and during a tense moment, everyone could hear chinese music being played beyond the theatre.
So out of place lor. Haha!

Also had lunch with S. at Watami restaurant~ The pork ramen's good! :)

Gonna chill for the rest of today before making notes(once again) for the other upcoming exams.

Uneventful happenings

Headed to Bishan after sch with S for lunch today, whilst waiting for my other friend to come, and we had the usual girl-chat~
Then had lunch with J. at AMK and headed home...
one of the other happy things that happened today was my purchase of a bag from Rubi, now marked down to $2!

Yup, am a retail therapy addict for sure.

The Dictator

Am exhausted, so just gonna make this as quick and short as possible~

Rushed home after sch, bathed and had a mini 'i-don't-have-anything-to-wear!' episode, threw on my new throwover blouse(pun fully unintended), then cabbed to the mrt to meet Odie dear~
Lunch at this Jap restaurant at Ion was good. The salmon skin sashimi...! Still, i didn't get to satisfy my craving for good sashimi; the type with fatty streaks through orange, delicious salmon atop a perfect rectangle of sake-infused rice....
Salmon sushi. I needs it.

Then we rushed to Lido, the tired pair that we were, and watched The Dictator.
It seems that the majority of American movies rely heavily on coarse, crude sexual 'humor', as well as slapstick comedy.
Odie and i were not much amused.
The guys on her side, however...well, they were merrily enjoying the show. Might i suggest that at certain scenes, much blood rushed to a certain area for the men?
Okay ,T.M.I, probably. But if you're a guy, you'd def love this movie, i bet. :p

Then Odie and i bus-sed to Novena and went off on our merry ways.

I will never know...

...why the maid in the housing block opposite mine always ventures out of the house to set her head and arms upon the ledge to stare into the distance, sometime staring into my room as well.
Kind of annoying, cause my room(as everyone else's)is open to view, what with the lack of privacy and all...these are times when i miss my old, spacious HDB flat. -.-
Yet it's also kind of...pitiful. Must be hard on her, being in a foreign country and all, homesickness notwithstanding. She kind of reminds me of a bird wanting to fly away from here, back to familiar terrains when she gazes off into the distance like that.
Or maybe i'm just thinking too much, as usual.

Got a project to do, and i'm here crapping away. -_-

I hate to stereotype, but since it was a beauty school it was 99% female in students and staff. It was very "Mean Girls"-esque, like the teachers had been the popular girls in high school and didn't know any other way of interacting with fellow vagina-havers other than to play fucked-up psychological games and be complete assholes.

I hesitate to say all this, because I don't want to present myself as a "I hate other women, I'm not dumb like thoseother bitches" self-hating misogynistic woman, but damn were these women angry and horrible to each other for no other apparent reason than competitiveness and jealousy.

Doberman Pinschers; my favourite breed of dog! Besides huskies, golden retrievers, pomerians and the like.
There's something reassuring and solid about big dog breeds. You can count on them for protection and always give them a huge cuddle. X)
I tend to favor dogs who look alert, sharp, tough and muscular and are intelligent and easy to train...as well as possessing loyalty and fierce devotion.
This dog shall be mine one day :D
Hopefully with a golden/black retriever or a husky for companionship, i hope. :)
