It's been ages, honestly, since i've read but this has officially made me rediscover the beauty the mechanics of a good, exquisitely written story can give.

These hectic days:
Day 1:
First ever outing with K.; just the two of us! Haha.
'Twas a rather rushed affair in the morning for her but we finally met at queensway to do shopping at Ikea! And Daiso and somewhere else that i forgot. Anyway, pics!
What we bought:
<- 2 flowerpots to be K.'s Princess Dustbin. Flowerpots as dustbins. Ingenuity or plain strange(my idea btw LOL)?
Plus she got a mini vase and frying pan!
<- My steals. Perhaps it's the wee hours and my tired soul but i find the fact that we bought complimentary tools sort of funny. I, a spatula and she, a frying pan! Oh and i got this nice 'alternative alcoholic drink' and a Tindra candle too! Gonna scent my room soon <3
And this:

'Roses of Sisterhood', we call it. Haha XD! It was random really; we saw this 90 cent vase and she told me she'd get me a flower to put in it if i got it! Touched by her random act of friendship so i did, but we eventually got 2 mini vases in the end and roses for each other. Haha! :)
Also, my b.day surprise gift for her:
Kuma is fun to draw. And those chocolates are delicious! :)
Day 2:
Dinner with W.F! :)
Twas actually my first time meeting her; i got to know her through the web. :)
To digress a bit i find friendships made through the net more satisfying and in a way, fulfilling.
One often assesses another based on first impressions(looks) and that barrier is non-existent through the web(unless one uses chatroulette of course). All that's left is one's personality, which is often stripped bare of pretense and airs; i mean after all, one usually loses most inhibitions behind the privacy of one's screen no?
The understanding and discovery of another's innermost opinions, thoughts, feelings and character cannot be wrought by face-to-face scenarios, or so i feel.
Unless one finds another of the same wavelength, of course! ^^
It's also rather convenient to get to know others from different walks of life through the net and i adore this, because it broadens one's horizons and deepens one's perspective! It's refreshing.
Anyway, dinner! Sakae Sushi has decent standards; no where near Ichiban though~

Day 3:
'Tampines Day' with K. again! Haha this silly girl decided to name it so XD am so amused by her antics!
Fish and Co.! Service was impeccable at Tampine 1. :)) K.'s 'Al Fungi Spaghetti'...the taste reminded me of a florist's shop though. Y'know how taste can somehow be translated into smell by the receptors in one's brain/throat?
I insisted on calling her dish 'Garden Spaghetti' after a taste, much to her amusement. Haha!
Also, entered a sake shop and saw this:
I want this!! Apparently it's 'celebratory sake' and even comes with edible gold flakes which you can sprinkle into the drink before ingesting it...so festive and cute!!! Totally am getting it when i officially graduate...or on my birthday. :D
Then we headed to Daiso afterwards. The Daiso there is really huge and posh; the vast, deep assortment and variety were staggering! They even had solid perfume! The bimbo in me is impressed and wants to travel back there in hopes of snagging a pleasant fragrance. It would be used to scent my room of course. :)
K.'s buys!
My buys:
The bag is just too cute!! Will bake cakes with that pink cake mould i got, put them in those pretty floral-patterned packets and place every package in that bag. This bag shall be my 'baked-goods' bag! So my friends would know when to expect a sweet surprise :D haha!
Bath tub cleaner down there and a small pack of french vanilla incense!
My room isn't stinky at all but i do love a pleasantly scented room. Haha!
Leather cream and shampoo from IKEA which we headed to afterwards! No time to visit Tampines Point but it was fun all the same :D
Gonna give my shoes and bags a good wash when i've the time <3
Pics!
Pardon this city girl who's hungry for desolate urban-ness.

MEGA-huge! Mall-size! The IKEA here definately has so much more than what the Queensway one has to offer though! So much more kitchenware and decorations! Didn't get the mixing bowls and rose-scented candle i wanted though(not enough money that day) and it's too far to make a return trip unfortunately...can only hope the one at Queensway would stock it. Ha!
Day 4:
Accompanied K. to her job interview at Orchard and we had a definitely memorable lunch. First time i ever teared up and actually had to fan myself during a meal! K. was laughing so hard she had to laugh silently, face to the wall in a corner for a few minutes! Definitely a memorable conversation and meal. :)!

Now i'm hungry at this time of the night all over again. Self-induced hunger! Tsk.
Anyway, went to meet W.F afterwards! Were supposed to go to Henderson Wave to take pretty snapshots but it rained so we went to Bugis instead; i got my cardigan there! Stoked to wear it later. :)
Ohai new friend! :)

A trip to the airport tmr with K. and L. to shop, eat and drink(BAILEYS!!); Oz the Great and Terrible with S., A. and W. on Fri; shopping with M. on Sat and Ghost Child with R. on Sunday.
Then the beginning of my new job next week. ><
Am really excited about my new job!! I'm gonna be a part time cupcake baker and decorator and i cannot wait to begin! :DD The first time i've ever been this hyped about a job actually. :)
In the midst of all this, an internship with a fashion magazine shall have to be found; my portfolio has yet to be done and my room....has yet to be packed, in all honesty. And more visits to the gym and driving lessons.
Life has never been so hectic for me but i'm currently loving it! :)
I guess i should sleep now, actually.
Haha.
Nights all :))

Dish II

Ham fried rice for my family! ^_^
The first time i cooked for my parents was last week actually(pork porridge!), but it looked unappetizing so i decided to spare myself the embarrassment. Haha!
Cooking's become one of my hobbies now-since there's so much spare time till i start work anyway-and i've been somewhat pleased with the results so far! Especially when my loved ones like what i cook. My grandmother tasted said pork porridge last week and she nodded and smiled, indicating that she liked it(even though she had lost most of her appetite; she's 90 and bedridden now...).
That really made my day, because she's usually cantankerous(idk how else to put it). And thus were the cold cockles of my heart warmed.
LOL.
I've yet to learn more, but i do hope i'll be able to make many more delicious-or at least sub-par LOL-meals to come! Even though i just learnt how to fry a proper egg today with the help of Google, hur hur.
Shall try making a noodle dish next, i think! And more exotic fare perhaps.
Anyway, last pic of ytd's little gathering:

I shall be thick skinned and state that i like how i look in this photo.
HAHAHA
Gonna dye/bleach my hair when my first paycheck come in, and i can't wait! Black is too dull and boring now i suppose; perhaps brown, blonde and a purple streak would be in order...
Nights y'all~

LadyKuma's Birthday! ^^

Dear girl was surrounded by all of us who were merrily snapping away at her when she turned and went "MU JIIII!"(our nickname for each other) at me. Hahaha!
And check out that Kuma cake!! Her one and only love(for now maybe heehee!)~
Her grandmum who shared the same lunar birth-date as she did. So sweet :)
Happy birthday girl and her yr 1 friends(and this yr 3 friend lol)! :)
Finally cutting the cake after taking so many photos!
<- Nice friends of hers who helped cut and serve up the cake!

Today was fun! ^_^ This girl was so busy rushing around playing the (rather)charitable and generous host that it was a sight to see haha! I had to rush off to meet my parents afterward, but that short span of time was still fun and heartwarming! Her whole family gathered to celebrate that festive date with her, the feast(delicious home-fried chicken; wonder what's the recipe!), the mingling...granted i didn't know K.'s yr 1 friends, but they seemed like really nice, fun people to hang with. :)
Granted we aren't that close yet, but i hope we will be in time to come ^^ Sincere, genuine people like her are extremely hard to find in today's world and these people always make the best friends. :)))

Going-ons
From Wardrobeflux's blog:
"I know this is going to sound completely ironic, but having a interest in Fashion and specializing in it is two entirely different genres. It's not a smooth dandy ride, and countless of times I've lost track and questioned my existence in this industry. It does come with a huge price to pay, and the burning passion is what really keeps you going. But nevertheless, I'm glad I took this great leap. I'm really thankful to be at where I am today– being blessed with countless opportunities, meeting such great inspiring individuals, and being able to apply the knowledge and skills I've acquired through my years in Lasalle."
To serve as a self-reminder of what i'll be up against if i do get accepted into Laselle. >_<
In the meanwhile, caught Jack the Giant Slayer(storyline was there but not fully engaging-perhaps it was indeed meant to be enjoyed solely by kids??-and characters weren't developed enough to rope one in~) with S. ytd and had lunch with O. the day before! O. was game enough to accompany me to this job interview at FEP too ^_^
Headed to Bugis with L. and S. today to get a birthday present for K.; i got this orange tribal-print bag and a beige RilaKuma pen too! :) I reckon i can spend a bit since i've gotten a job already. Haha!
Oh and i landed a job baking and decorating cupcakes in this shop in town.
Yay me!! :D
The best part is that it opens in mid-March, so i'll have plenty of time to sort out the pigsty that is currently my room, concentrate on losing these pounds and have as much fun as possible!
..as well as bringing my culinary skills up to date. Ahaha :)
Nights all!
