If there's anything i've learnt from this, is that one must fully be present; stay in the moment of things and enjoy whatever emotion courses through one now.
All too soon that emotion, that moment can pass and it will become either a good memory, or reminder of things once cherished but now tarnished.
(Y) To better things and more (metaphorical) open doors in life!

Meal for the 'Daughter'

Spent 2+ hours in the kitchen today, preparing this pork porridge with sliced abalone, century eggs and the star of today:
<- K.'s mum's own minced-meat-with-steamed-egg dish! My fave! This K. even brought over egg tarts as a gift in addition to this yummy egg dish, the thoughtful girl! XD
In her own words, we 'traumatized my mum and tore down the whole house today'. Not literally, but in terms of the ruckus we were causing yet again LOL!
Anyway, cooking is indeed fun :D 'Tis a pity the salty shellfish didn't go well with the savory porridge though...thinking of serving it with plain white rice, steamed fish and lightly stir-fried kailan with smoked sausage one day. (Y)
Can't wait!
To end this post,:
Sunset at Novena! And a massage afterwards with a few snacks thrown in for good measure.
Life is better with good food, after all. :D

Little update
For the better or for the worse, my parents have decided to let me work for a full year so as to be able to pay off those fees myself. This is good, because i am a young adult now and is to be expected, but part of me also worries at the expense of time...and i am concerned at the age at which i'll graduate. Also, the choice of location...local, or overseas?
...nevertheless,i trust that everything happens for a reason. :)
These few days have been hectic, to say the least! Vaguely remember it as spent on outings and work(the cupcake-decorating-and-baking job has finally started).
Work-wise, it wasn't as fun as i thought it would be, honestly! But i intend to be assertive and see what comes of it. Heh.
I shall leave you with a pic of this delicious thing K. and i had yesterday, when we went to the airport:
Fried egg-white ensconcing tofu, in a pool of sweet sauce, grated carrot and onion! Delicious.
K.'s coming over tmr to enjoy the perks my house has to offer and i'll be cooking abalone porridge for her and my dear parents!
Nights, y'all. :)

Better things
Flowers i plucked from the wreathes at the wake.K. also actually came al the way to pay her condolences to my grandmum!!
This is a moment i will never forget.
Also,
<- dinner at Thai Express with W.F! This was good :)
<- What's an outing without shopping right? Haha!Small things like simple outings with new friends make this all smoother, and honestly-they enrich the process(of ridding myself of the old). They make it worth it.
I suppose at that stage of life, i wasn't exactly in a good position to attract the right type of people. Now though, 6 years have passed and like everyone else, i've changed too. Less emotionally clingy, needy and whiny, i'd like to think. :)
Must be why i'm gaining more friends who take friendship seriously, and at that, a friend who i can really bond with, i feel!
Good things at the end of every charred bridge and hard journey, i'd say.
More outings in the week to come. Can't wait!

'Friends are for holding your bread in place!' (few weeks back)
Went with K. to Bugis to do her shopping last week! :) Had lunch at Red Pot; the food was satisfactory but K said hers(pork rib noodles) tasted like a farm. LOL! I think my fried silver fish and pork chop was nice. :)

Anyway, got a pleasant surprise during lunch! I gave her slices of the cake i baked ytd(plain and chocolate) and she gave me a surprise of her own!
Black pepper cheese sticks from JB! <3 Was touched and happy that she remembered me on her trip lol!
I also got these keychains and personalized clip from the West from W.N when S. and i met her to watch Oz the other day and honestly, i was really moved by that completely unexpected gesture ! It may seem trifling to others, but i do so appreciate such acts...esp so in the latter case because we don't even interact that much! She also got me chocolates. Delicious. :)))
Anyway, K. and i finished her shopping and we went to Bugis+ for high tea and there we had two epic moments of the day(There're always epic moments and fits of hysterical laughter it seems! :D).
We went to the restroom and entered our respective stalls; stalls which were separated by another cubicle, but each of us thought we were at each other's sides. After a short while K. suddenly went 'Mu ji!'(chinese for 'Mother Hen'; her nickname for me LOL) and i responded with 'Ji Dan!' and poked my foot underneath the door. What we didn't know was that the stall in between us was occupied by another girl...that resulted in some weird stares and awkward moments when all 3 of us exited the stalls. Lol!
