Pathetic but true. Ah well.
Anyhoo, it did keep me on my seat for most of the time! The only thing i found slightly absurd about the movie was that the ghost-which slowly crawled out from behind a box-looked a lot like Samara from the ring(empty black yawning crevices for eyes and mouth and white face). Kinda expected something more original, what with the suspenseful, good plot and all.
It started off with what i found an interest-grabbing thing; these people were conducting some sort of experiment, it went wrong, then the ex-lover of the protagonist got sucked into the wall.
I do wish the film had told us what happened to those people. This mystery shall probably leave me awake at night guessing what happened to them!...instead of the scary-factor doing that. Haha~
There's a scattering of suspenseful parts throughout the movie.
First was when the protagonist(i forgot his name, let's name him P.)was watching a video of happenings on that fateful day of the experiment, and his lover('L') was bathing. Was expecting to see something popping up in the bath, but no such thing happened; the fresh bar of soap suddenly turned black and had some major fungus ensconce it. Unexpected, but it kinda gives a chill.
Then it led up to the woman stepping into the closet and backing away in horror. Actually the suspense came mostly from L's acting, rather than the contents of the closet(completely trashed, with gouges that could have only come from a human hand with unnatural strength, broken wooden hangers...even the clothes were tied up/ braided. Kind of find this amusing, you would've expected the clothes to be shredded~).
Third occurred when P., his friend-who later died in the movie-and L. finally decided to do some sort of exorcism and L. got trapped in a small room. She thought she had gotten out of said room and was actually in the hallway, and was nailing the door shut(she had heard a noise emitting from behind a box and turned to flee when she saw a dark gray hand slowly emerge, i think), and when she whirled around, you'd have thought she would have been in the hall. She was back in the room and had nailed it shut, with the Samara-looking entity instead.
Damn was that scary.
Oh wait, before that a mass of...idk how to describe it, it looked like a hardened, unnatural, nasty-looking mass of dead, festering mold had abruptly taken root on the corner of a room. P. was whacking it with a broomstick and out dropped the splintered figurine used in earlier experiment.
Then further into the movie, when the trio had some reason to assume the exorcism had worked, the third guy got yanked into a black room and disappeared. The other two came in and when L.entered the room-in which the guy had disappeared to-, it had abruptly turned into a room with severely rusted worktools, metal stands and a broken-down car.
Anyway, P. and L. went to the third guy's house for safety, P. abruptly disappeared from the metal construction they were sheltering in, L. hears him say her name from beyond the construction. She steps outside and after poking around to look for him, she finds him dead. Idk if his mouth continued to open despite him being dead, but it did appear bigger than before. Was hiding behind my hand and sneaking peeks, so i can't verify that -.-
Bottom line: No happy ending(or explanations for the disappearances D:), they all died.
One of the better movie-plots i've watched this year, i must say! :)
Can't believe i'm saying this about a horror movie, but i can't wait for part 2! I need to find out what happened to those people who disappeared into the walls/void!
Haha.
In other news, gym with S. tmr, Step Up with S. and A. soon! Plus more work. Bleah.
Things have cooled off on the work-front, i think. But i'm wondering if i should quit. The atmosphere there is absolutely dead and not fun at all!! I need a job that can provide me with some sort of pleasure/ entertainment. Hell, even working at Robinsons was better. I actually find myself missing the standards required and expected of oneself there. Relatively more sophisticated and polite clientele, i had a comfy section to work in(think carpeted floor, tall racks that could totally give you some privacy), fixed work schedule, people who i could talk to and have a laugh with...even lunch-times and food options seem better than that of Novena's!
But, well...no use reminiscing over the past, i guess.
On another facet of things(and to remind myself of what i wanna get once i get my pay!)...
